According to data from the China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics, in the first half of 2025 , China's photovoltaic product exports amounted to US$13.87 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 26.8% . From the perspective of product segments, except for the significant year-on-year increase in battery cell exports, the exports of silicon wafers and modules both fell sharply year-on-year :

The export value of silicon wafers was US$600 million, a sharp drop of 54.2% year-on-year. Although the export volume of 2.94 billion pieces still maintained a slight increase of 5%, the contradiction of "increased volume and falling prices" has become very prominent ; photovoltaic modules, as the main export product, encountered the dilemma of "falling both volume and price" , with an export value of US$11.54 billion (a year-on-year decrease of 29.3%) and an export volume of 120.5GW (a year-on-year decrease of 17.7%).

Despite this, leading Chinese photovoltaic companies, leveraging their technological advantages, global supply chain presence, and established brands , have continued to secure significant orders in the international market. Looking at the performance of these leading companies, Sobi Photovoltaic Network, through official information research, found that the top ten companies—Longi Green Energy, Trina Solar, JA Solar, JinkoSolar, Tongwei Solar, and Canadian Solar— have signed over 60 major overseas orders since 2025, covering 20GW of photovoltaic modules and 16GWh of energy storage systems . This represents a landscape of "overall pressure, with leading companies leading the way ," signaling that the global photovoltaic market has transitioned from "scale competition" to a new phase of integrated competition focused on "technology, brand, and service."

Overseas orders for photovoltaic modules exploded:

JA Solar leads the way with 8.41GW, while Aiko, LONGi, and Tongwei jointly expand their global presence

According to incomplete statistics, JA Solar has signed 10 photovoltaic module orders totaling 8.41GW. Its star product, the DeepBlue 4.0 Pro high-efficiency module, has become a core competitive advantage. In terms of market distribution, JA Solar has established a dual-wheel drive in emerging and mature markets.

In the Middle East, JA Solar signed a 2.6GW module supply agreement with Masdar in the UAE on January 16th , becoming a core supporter of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Park, the world's largest integrated solar-plus-storage project. Furthermore, multiple orders placed in Africa, Australia, and other regions have further solidified JA Solar's first-mover advantage in emerging markets.

Aixu Solar 's three gigawatt-level overseas orders demonstrate the unique competitiveness of its BC technology. During the SNEC 2025 and Intersolar Europe 2025 exhibitions, the company signed a series of high-value contracts for both distributed and centralized solar projects, including the largest BC ground-mounted solar power station in Europe (340MW) and the largest BC ground-mounted solar power station in Africa (225MW), highlighting the international competitiveness of its BC technology.

Currently, the penetration rate of BC modules in the European distributed power market has exceeded 20 % . Aixu Co., Ltd. has been deeply exploring high-value overseas markets such as Europe . By the second quarter of 2025, overseas module sales accounted for more than 40%, and its share of overseas high-value markets continues to expand.

LONGi Green Energy has signed nine overseas orders totaling 1.8GW for its flagship Hi-MO X10 series modules. By September 2025, LONGi's monthly BC module output will reach approximately 2.5GW. In the first half of 2025, approximately 4GW of HPBC 2.0 module shipments were expected. By April 2025, cumulative HPBC module shipments had reached 30GW, with a backlog exceeding 40GW, covering over 70 countries and regions.

Longi predicts that its BC battery market share will exceed 30% by 2028 and surpass 50% by 2030. In 2025, Longi will increase its investment in BC production capacity . The company anticipates reaching 50GW of independent BC production capacity in the second half of the year , with an additional 10GW through strategic partnerships, bringing its total capacity to 60GW. The company stated that by the end of 2026, with the exception of a few overseas factories, all products produced at its domestic factories will have migrated to BC technology. BC products will account for 50% of its total shipments, becoming the absolute mainstream.

Tongwei Co., Ltd. has signed 9 overseas module orders totaling 1.7GW, with strong demand in markets with abundant sunlight resources such as Pakistan and Poland.

In 2022, Tongwei fully entered the photovoltaic module field . In just three years, on June 26, 2025 , Tongwei modules officially achieved 100GW shipments . The photovoltaic module production capacity currently exceeds 90GW, with a market share of 8%.

Energy storage business becomes a new growth point:

Canadian Solar, Trina Solar, JinkoSolar, and Risen Energy see surge in overseas energy storage orders

It is worth noting that in 2025, the leading photovoltaic module companies actively promoted the dual-track strategy of modules and energy storage . Companies such as Trina Energy Storage, Risen Energy, JinkoSolar, and Canadian Solar Energy Storage successfully entered the Bloomberg 2025 Q3 Global Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturers List by relying on technological innovation and deep market penetration , and achieved breakthrough growth in the overseas energy storage market, becoming an important support for hedging against module export pressure.

Canadian Solar's energy storage subsidiary ,  e-STORAGE, has secured orders for 6.45GWh of energy storage systems , including two gigawatt-scale projects, covering core markets such as Europe, the US, and Australia. The 2GWh Scottish energy storage project, signed on January 8th with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is one of the largest battery energy storage projects in Europe and , upon commissioning, will be able to meet  the peak electricity needs of 250,000 UK households.
